Both Akhilesh and his father Mulayam Singh Yadav will now be probed by the CBI for alleged disproportionate assets. The only silver lining for them was exclusion of Akhilesh's wife Dimple Yadav from the investigation. The Supreme Court also ruled that the CBI doesn't need to report to the Central government on the status of the case. This reduces the possibility of political interference in the case.
