In yet another incidence of ceasefire violation, Pakistani troops targetted two BSF posts in the RS Pura sector of Jammu early on Sunday morning.

The troops from across the border began firing at about 2:30 AM early morning.

The BSF jawans swiftly retaliated against the attack and the gunbattle between the two sides is said to be still on in RS Pura Sector. Although, firing has stopped in Arania.

The Pakistani Rangers from their posts Thatti, Ghug, Lalial and Jamshad led the attack using small arms and 82 mm mortar.

A senior police officer told IANS, "Since midnight, Pakistan Rangers have started unprovoked heavy firing at Pittal and Tent border out posts of the BSF in RS Pura sector of Jammu district.

"Pakistan troops are using small arms and automatic weapons to target Indian positions. BSF troops are effectively responding to Pakistan firing.

"Firing exchanges are still going on in these areas. No casualty or damage has been so far reported from our side".

This is the 10th ceasefire violation by Pakistan in the last ten days triggering suspicions of attempts to infiltrate.
