The police on Wednesday arrested a man from Tilak Nagar area for allegedly forcing his wife into having unnatural sex and also forcing her into having physical relations with his friends.
The suspect has been charged under the sections 377 (unnatural offences), 498 (A) (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
An officer at Swaroop Nagar police station, who is the investigating officer of the case, told TOI that the incident came to light last month when the victim shared her plight with her parents following which they approached police and lodged a complaint.
"They said that the man, a well known businessman of Tilak Nagar area, used to beat up his wife and force her into having unnatural sex. Besides, he also asked her to have physical relations with his friends. When the victim resisted her husband's demands, he tortured her. He also threatened to kill her and her parents if she disclosed anything to anyone."
However, the victim tried to tell her in-laws about the harassment but they too asked her to adhere to her husband's demands. "Frightened, the victim decided to inform her parents," police officer said further. "Victim's husband has been arrested and sent to jail on Wednesday," he said.
