The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Government of India following a PIL that challenges the Aadhaar scheme. The petition has been filed by a retired judge of the Karnataka High Court. The petition says the bill is pending in Parliament and alleges that Aadhaar cards are being given to non-Nationals. The PIL also argues that as the card is being manufactured by private companies, there is a likelihood of biometric and other data being misused.
