The filmmakers allege that Mamata's partymen fear that the film's plot bears a resemblance to the real-life Park Street rape case, in which an Anglo Indian woman was raped in a moving car. The film's screening has been stopped despite the state's Education Minister and actor Bratya Basu playing a key role in it.
