IT dept probes firms linked to Gadkari's Purti group - NewsX

The noose tightens around BJP President Nitin Gadkari. The Income Tax department has officially commenced a probe of alleged shell companies of the Purti Group... said to have been associated with Gadkari. Income-Tax officials department conducted "open inquiries" at 12 premises of companies which invested in Purti Sugar and Power run by Gadkari.... and found many of their directors were people with small means like security guards and labourers. Sources say statements of 13 people named as directors of these companies have been recorded. Gadkari is under attack over dubious funding of Purti Power and Sugar Ltd controlled by him.
