The Congress and TMC are likely to work out a quid pro quo. Congress on its part, may grant statehood to Telangana, induct TRS Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao into the Cabinet, even make a few TRS MPs Ministers of State, since the Congress has a few vacancies in the Council of Ministers. The Congress on the other hand wants its nominee as the first Chief Minister of Telangana.
