J&K: Teacher arrested for abetting student's suicide - NewsX

A 16-year-old student has died allegedly after being beaten by a teacher in North Kashmir district of Baramulla. Police said student's father Kulbir Singh has alleged that his son was beaten by a teacher in a school at Baramulla. "On August 25, 2012 Kulbir Singh reported that his son Panveer Singh was beaten by a teacher Altaf Ahmad. The student was injured and was shifted to Baramulla Hospital where from he was referred to Bone and Joint Hospital Srinagar and later on to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar," Police spokesman said. "The boy died last night," he said. Police have registered FIR 177/12 and have arrested the accused teacher. The body of the student was handed over to his relatives for last rites.
