It's only the lucky in Delhi who find their medical needs addressed immediately. The unlucky ones often discover that the lack of money cheats them of life's basic needs. In most cases, poor health pushes these people deeper into poverty. But despair not as respite from this problem is possible, at least for a few. Delhi doctor Suryakanthi Tripathi runs a free clinic for the homeless. India Foundation Free Clinic located in Delhi's Lodhi Colony is open six days a week in the evenings. On an average, it treats around 45 to 50 patients a day. The cases that they feel ill-equipped to treat are often referred to bigger hospitals.
