Quami Ekta Dal leader Mukhtar Ansari, released on a day's parole from prison here on Saturday, failed to address supporters at Ghosi, the constituency he's contesting from. Campaigning for the May 12 vote closed at 5pm on Saturday.
An MLA from Mau, Ansari was released on Saturday at 6am. But around 5pm, he was still 125 km from Ghosi. Officials said he was not allowed to go beyond Azamgarh.
