Ranvir Sena chief's murder: Bihar DGP, SP roughed up - NewsX

Bihar DGP, SP roughed up in Ara in wake of tensions surrounding murder of Ranvir Sena chief. Prohibitory orders were imposed in the town of Ara for 24 hours after Ranvir Sena supporters went on a rampage setting fire to the local block development office and circuit house. The violence was sparked by the killing of Brahmeshwar Mukhiya, the dreaded chief of Ranvir Sena, a militant outfit claiming to represent the interests of landowning Bhumihar community, early this morning. Assailants riding on a motorbike fired bullets at Mukhiya as he had come out of his house for morning walk at around 4 am. Mukhiya died on the spot. The Janata Dal-United has appealed to people in Ara and neighbouring areas to remain calm.
