Mumbai -7 dead, 9 injured in gas tanker explosion

Seven persons, including two minors, were charred to death and 10 sustained burn injuries when a petrol tanker exploded at Charoti on the Mumbai-Ahmebadad national highway on Saturday afternoon.

The driver of the tanker Ram Yadav (42) heading towards Mumbai paid the toll at the Charoti naka and moved ahead. He lost control of the vehicle which turned turtle around 200 feet away from the toll naka at around 2.30pm. The tanker exploded.

Four six-seater autos, two private cars, seven to eight two-wheelers were caught in the fire and charred.
