The Supreme Court however has refused to stay ongoing negotiations, fearing that it could put to risk the life of the MLA, both the centre and Odisha government are to respond within two weeks. Also admitting a PIL filed by an ex-armyman, retd major General GD Bakshi, the Supreme Court has issued notices to the Patnaik government and the Centre. The PIL had sought a stay on the exchange of hardliner Naxals for abducted MLA Jhina Hikaka, and framing of proper guidelines to tackle problem of naxal terror.
