Dr Khaleel Chishty's Bail Papers to be produced in Ajmer Fast Track court AT 11 am. The bail order is through. Release from jail is imminent with only paperwork and other formalities in the way. And back home in Karachi celebrations hoping Dr Mohammed Khalil Chisti comes home soon are under way. The 80-year old has been in jail in Ajmer since 1992 charged and convicted of murder during a visit from Karachi.
He's suffered 2 heart attacks and can't move about on his own... yet his release symbolizes an India-Pak thaw... even if it's only momentary. It comes across as an ideal time for Pakistan to act... an opportunity to build on the positive mood... distracting from the terror focus... and one that could send out positive signals for the relationship ahead.
