In a major blow to the Akali Dal in Punjab, its Cabinet minister, Bibi Jagir Kaur has been awarded 5 years in jail for forceful abortion and criminal conspiracy. In a partial relief for Punjab Cabinet Minister Bibi Jagir Kaur, a special CBI court has acquitted her of the murder charge of her daughter. Punjab minister Bibi Jagir kaur will now be sent to Patiala Jail. Congress has demanded her resignation.
