India News : In the wake of IPS officer of D G Vanzara's resignation from police service, Congress today demanded the resignation of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi alleging fake encounters were a policy of his government and pressed for a CBI inquiry into the whole affair.

"Vanzara has stated in his resignation letter that Gujarat government led by Narendra Modi used the policemen and latter disowned them to gain political advantage," said Congress chief spokesperson Ajay Maken here today.
