PM supports Railway Minister- NewsX

The open war between Dinesh Trivedi and the TMC has taken an extremely ugly turn. Even as TMC continues to demand Trivedi's ouster, NewsX has learnt from highly placed government sources that TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee had an idea that Trivedi would be hiking fares in the Rail Budget. Not only that Mamata's close aide Gautam Sanyal knew the details of the hike. And even as the TMC is insistent on his ouster, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is backing Trivedi. Meanwhile the railway unions have written a second letter to the Prime Minister stating that he can't mix politics with Railways. And also that Trivedi is being made a scapegoat.
