Australia has beaten Sri Lanka in the opening match of the CB Series finals. The hosts won a high scoring game by 15 runs in Brisbane thanks to a sparking century by David Warner. Chasing a mammoth 322 for victory the Lankans looked to be out of it after they were reduced to 144 for six. But Kulasekara with 73 runs triggered a fight back in the company of Tharanga to get Sri Lanka close. The Lankans were eventually all out in the final over for 306. Australia go one nil up in the best of three finals.
