Mamata warns Congress-backed union over strike-NewsX

When in opposition in West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee and her Trinamool Congress had sponsored many a strike against the then Left Front government. But now in power, she holds very different views of things. Mamata Banerjee has come out all guns blazing against the strike call given by trade unions. This puts her in another collision course with her ally the Congress. Determined not to let the strike succeed in West Bengal, Mamata has warned all state government employees to be present at work today and an absence is to be treated as break in service. The government is going all out to ensure that essential services are not hit.
