The Union Home Ministry has opposed decriminalization of gay sex in the country before the Supreme Court. The Ministry said that our moral and social values are different from other countries and we cannot be guided by them. Delhi High court had earlier passed a judgment which decriminalized Section - 377 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) covering a sexual act in private between consenting adults. The apex court is hearing appeals filed by Baba Ramdev and others in the case.
