The Gujarat High Court has said today that "there was inaction by the police" during the state's communal riots of 2002. A division bench was hearing a petition that asks the government to pay for the damage that was incurred by different religious buildings.The judges hearing the case slammed the Narendra Modi- government and said the police could not stop the riot.
