Dope shame: 6 Indian athletes banned for 1 year
  • 5 years ago
In a strong verdict, the National Anti-Doping Agency has banned six Indian athletes accused of doping for one year. Ashwini Akkunji, Tiana Mary, Priyanka Pawar, Sini Jose, Mandeep Kaur and Juana Murmu have been banned. This means that neither of these athletes will be able to qualify for the Olympic Games. But they can compete if other relay runners can earn qualification for India. They were able to get their bans reduced as they were able to convince the panel that the supplements used by them were contaminated.
