The govt is mulling a 30,000 crore rupees bailout package for the cash strapped Air India. The money would be disbursed over a period of 10 years. The outlines of the package were discussed at a recent meeting between Civil Aviation Ministry officials, officials from the airlines and representatives from a consortium of 14 lending banks. The lenders are learnt to have given a broad approval to the debt restructuring plan after getting a green signal from the RBI.
