In a surprising diatribe at anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare, the Congress called him corrupt. Party spokesperson Manish Tewari cited irregularities in various trusts run by Anna Hazare, cited by a Supreme Court judge. He said Rs 2 lakh 20 thousand from trust fund was spent for Hazare's birthday celebrations. Another trust illegally held land, and its accounts hadn't been audited for 20 years. Tewari also accused Hazare of illegally holding a trust position. He said that an anti corruption front floated by Anna in 1997 was used for extortion and other criminal activities.
