India News: Navratri the nine days long festival of Chaitra Navratri to commence, local temples and markets are abuzz with hectic activity as priests and locals alike give finishing touches to preparations for the auspicious event marked with the onset of New Year of the Hindu calendar.
Local markets are decked up for shoppers making purchases of offerings for the Goddess including 'chunari', 'kalai nara', bangles, cosmetic items, coconut and earthern 'kalash' (urn).
