The Gurgaon Police are yet to arrest a man who tried to rape a 25-year-old woman inside a Mercedes car in DLF Phase-II. The police have neither succeeded in tracing the accused nor his car.
The man was identified by the police as Narender, a property dealer. On Monday night, the accused, an acquaintance of the victim, tried to rape her inside the car. When she resisted, he threw her out of the moving car, injuring the victim. The incident occurred around 10 pm. Both the accused and the victim were on the way to inspecting a property. The police said two more friends of the accused boarded the car on the way.

"We immediately registered a case and rushed the victim to hospital for treatment and medical examination," commissioner of police (Gurgaon) S.S. Deswal said. The commissioner added that they were still verifying the statement of the victim, who was in hospital until Tuesday evening. According to officials, the accused came to the office of the victim around 4 pm on Monday and asked its owner, also a property dealer, to accompany him to some properties for sale and rent in and around Gurgaon. The owner, however, asked the victim to accompany the dealer. "As he (Narender) is in the same business, I thought he meant business," Bharat Bhushan, owner of the realty firm where the victim works, said.

At 7 pm, Narender along with the victim set off from the office towards one of the locations, reportedly in the Vasant Kunj area of Delhi. The victim was asked to show Narender a few other flats in Gurgaon as well. "On the way, the accused bought some bottles of beer and allowed two more friends to board the car," a police officer said. Even though the victim, according to her statement, objected to Narender consuming beer, he did not listen to her. "A drunk Narender tried to molest her. As she resisted, they threw her out of the car around 10.15 pm in DLF Phase-II area," the officer said.
