대담: 북미정상회담 D-2, 양 정상 베트남 이동

For more, we have Professor Kim Hyun-wook from the Korea National Diplomatic Academy,... joining us in the studio today.
Welcome to the program.
Q1 North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has opted for a special train for this visit to Vietnam. There was speculation that he could use the state jet Chammae-1. Now it's expected to take over two days to get to Vietnam. Why do you think North Korea chose this mode of transport?
Q2 North Korea's state media on Sunday reported on Kim Jong-un's journey to Vietnam,... after staying mum on the upcoming visit for weeks. If we look back to the first summit in June last year in Singapore, North Korea reported related news *after Kim had arrived in Singapore. Why do you think the regime broke the news relatively early this time?
Q3-1 The state media also released footage of Kim's departure, we've been able to get a glimpse of the senior officials that are part of the North's delegation, such as Kim Jong-un's sister Kim Yo-jong and top aide Kim Yong-chol.
Were there any people that stood out to you or that we should keep our eyes on?
Q3-2 Now there's been no mention of Kim's wife Ri Sol-ju. Many had been anticipating the possibility of first-lady diplomacy. Do you think she's just under the veils, or do you think there's particular reason for her to be left behind?
Q4 Now over in Hanoi, working level talks have been getting underway between North Korean special envoy Kim Hyok-chol and his U.S. counterpart Steven Biegun. Footage over the weekend showed Biegun giving a thumbs up to reporters following the negotiations. Do you think the two sides have managed to narrow their differences at this point?
Q5 Now compared to the Singapore summit, the U.S. also seems to be a little more flexible. Even just a day before the June 12 summit,... Washington stepped up pressure, stressing for the need for complete denuclearization. But this time, it seems to have put a lot more cards on the table. On Sunday, Trump tweeted that the North could become a great economic power without nuclear weapons. How should we be looking at the situation?
Q6 U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton was initially supposed to visit South Korea over the weekend,... but his trip was called off in order to focus on the Venezuela crisis. But he is expected to accompany President Trump to Vietnam, along with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Who do you think will be on the U.S. delegation -- and what significance does each official have?
Q7 Up until now, South Korean President Moon Jae-in has been playing the mediator role and facilitating talks between North Korea and the U.S. Last week, he talked to President Trump over the phone said that Seoul is willing to open economic engagement with North Korea as a "concession" if it will expedite Pyongyang's denuclearization, saying he was ready to undertake anything from reconnecting rail and road links between the two Koreas to other inter-Korean economic cooperation.
