Vidya Balan, who is all set to make her debut in Marathi films with Ekk Albela launched the film's song Shola Jo Bhadke along with her fellow cast members. Vidya will portray the role of late actress Geeta Bali in the film. Her co-star Mangesh Desai will essay the role of Bhagwan dada. She even reacted to the rumours of her rift with husband Sidharth Roy Kapur after she had supported Kangana Ranaut in her controversy with Hrithik Roshan. About her preparation for the role, she said: "I just saw the songs as I have been a fan of Geetaji and of this film. I saw the film again.. I have tried to adapt her nuances. I know that I don't look at all like Geetaji. I have attempted to look like her, to act like her, her expressions, how she would move her hands."
