Surya is a tourist guide in Mahabalipuram. He is not averse to stealing small things from tourists. When the times were really hard, Surya and his friend Satyan decides to commit a big time robbery. The house they select happens to be that of film actress Jyothika. She catches them red handed and her scheming manager makes her complain that Surya has misbehaved with her. This lands him in jail. An enraged Surya kidnaps Jyothika to teach her a lesson. During the hostage, she develops a liking for him. But the scheming manager stages another kidnap of Jyothika to extract a ransom! The rest of the storyline deals with how Surya saves Jyothika from the kidnappers.
