ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ನೂರಾರು ರಸ್ತೆ ಅಪಘಾತಗಳು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಲೇ ಇರುತ್ತವೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಶೇ.40ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಅಪಘಾತ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳು ಡ್ರಂಕ್ ಅಂಡ್ ಡ್ರೈವ್ನಿಂದಲೇ ಸಂಭವಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ ಕುಡಿದು ವಾಹನ ಚಾಲನೆ ಮಾಡುವರರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಇಲಾಖೆಯು ಕಠಿಣ ಕಾನೂನು ಜಾರಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಮುಂದಾಗಿದೆ.
