Wild ride for hitchhiking toads

Ten cane toads were seen riding a 3.5-metre (11-foot) python after floods breached a dam in Kununurra, Australia.
People who witnessed the strange sight captured video of the snake – known locally as “Monty” – moving at full speed with the toads clinging to its back. While the toads may have been trying to escape rising waters, one amphibian expert said the male toads were exhibiting unusual sexual behaviour.
Cane toads are a non-native pest in Australia’s tropical north, where native species often die after eating the unfamiliar and toxic invaders. Monty, however, seems to have known better than to stop for a bite to eat.
