DR Congo opposition blasts organisers for vote delay

In tonight’s edition: Tensions are high in the Democratic Republic of Congo after the long-anticipated election has been postponed once again. And parts of Sudan have been placed under a state of emergency after protests against the rising cost of living turn deadly. Finally, we report on a new brand of champagne born of an encounter between a French winemaker and a Guinean businessman.
Voters in Democratic Republic of Congo were due to head to the polls this Sunday, but just days before the long-awaited election, DRC's electoral commission announced the vote would be postponed for a week. The commission has blamed a warehouse fire for the delay, saying it needs to replace the voting materials that were destroyed in the blaze. An alliance of parties backing opposition candidate Félix Tshisekedi has said any further delay will not be accepted.And in Sudan, authorities have declared a state of emergency in parts of the country after three days of protests have left eight people dead.
