Korea is facing the coldest weather conditions so far this season.
Most upper parts of the nation including Incheon, Gyeonggi-do Province and Gangwon-do Province were already issued cold wave warnings on Thursday evening
by the Korea Meteorological Administration. But the weather agency said further warnings have been issued on Thursday for central and southern regions including the northern part of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province.
The agency said most of the country will wake up to freezing temperatures as low as minus 10 degrees Celsius on Friday morning. Furthermore, strong winds will make it feel even colder than the actual readings.
Compared to previous years, the mercury plunged to nine degrees Celsius lower than the average at this time of the year.
While the temperatures will remain well below normal on the weekend,... temperatures will slowly bounce back to near-average levels by next week.
