Dover MP calls for more coastal patrol craft

Dover MP Charlie Elphicke has called for greater investment in coastal patrol craft to keep UK borders "safe and secure." Seventeen suspected migrants on a fishing boat were stopped in the Port of Dover in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Mr Elphicke highlighted the findings of a "damning report" issued yesterday which said there are two border cutters for the whole of the British coastline, compared with 600 in Italy and 300 in Greece.
