Trivial reasons such as doing laundry at night, eating in the car and having different political views are among the factors reported for divorce by young couples said Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Hannah Yeoh.

She said this is a serious issue as trivial reasons are being used for divorce and added that the ministry had launched several programmes to help newlyweds.
