South Korea's presidential office is marking the first anniversary of President Moon Jae-in's New Southern Policy by highlighting the progress made thus far.
The top office says that, over the past twelve months, Seoul's relations with Southeast Asian nations have prospered both in terms of trade and diplomacy,... realizing the policy's purpose of curbing South Korea's reliance on traditional partners like the U.S. and China.
The Blue House added that trade volume between South Korea and ASEAN member countries jumped to more than one-hundred-60-billion U.S. dollars this year.
The amount of construction orders South Korean companies received from Southeast Asian nations increased as well.
