All 189 people aboard the Lion Air flight 610 that crashed 13 minutes after taking off from Jakarta on October 29, 2018, are feared dead. The near-new plane flew for the first time in August and was certified as “airworthy”. The Lion Air Group hasn’t revealed the cause of the plane’s technical problems. At least 10 body bags with human remains, as well as 14 bags filled with debris, have been collected. Lion Air has flown 166 family members to Jakarta to assist in the identification of survivors.
