Cypriot farmers fear no-deal Brexit may hit livelihoods

Farmers on British sovereign land in Cyprus complain they’re being left in the dark over Brexit and fear they could lose vital subsidies - or even be forced to pay crippling tariffs, if Britain crashes out of the EU without a deal. Prime Minister Theresa May said last week that a protocol for the RAF Akrotiri and Dhekelia military bases on the Mediterranean island has been ‘developed’ in negotiations with Cyprus, as an annex to a wider Withdrawal Agreement between London and Brussels.
