General-level inter-Korean military talks taking place at Panmunjeom

Let's start with the ongoing... and highly welcomed cooling of tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
Another round of high-level military talks between generals from the two Koreas has started at the border village of Panmunjeom.
This is the third round of such general-level talks between the two Koreas this year alone.

The talks started at 10 a.m. Korea time, as planned,... at Tongil-gak,.. on the North Korean side of Panmunjeom.
Each side is sending a five-member delegation,... and these are being led by the same generals as the last two meetings this year,... Major General Kim Do-gyun from the South and Lieutenant General Ahn Ik-san from the North,... both of whom are considered the same rank.
According to the defense ministry correspondents' joint press pool,... the talks began with a very friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
The two generals shared warm welcoming remarks, before the meeting became closed-door.
And,.. before the delegation left for Panmunjeom earlier in the day,... South Korea's Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon spoke to the South Korean delegation here,... at the Office for Inter-Korean Dialogue in Seoul.
Let's hear what the head of the South Korean delegation, Major General Kim told the media,... before he headed to Panmunjeom at around seven thirty a.m. this morning.
"By fully implementing the September 19th Comprehensive Military Agreement,... and by putting in our best efforts,... we hope the inter-Korean military talks achieve their goal and play a significant role in leading the denuclearization and the establishment of perpetual peace on the Korean peninsula."
General Kim also said,.. that the two sides will also aim to conduct an assessment of the Comprehensive Military Agreement, signed by the defense ministers from the two Koreas last month,... and discuss the ongoing projects related to the implementation of last month's comprehensive military agreement.
The two sides will also look at how to form and conduct the 'Inter-Korean Joint Military Committee,'... through which the two Koreas had agreed to discuss major military issues, including large-scale military exercises, various forms of blockade, and the prohibition of reconnaissance activities.
