अमृतसर रेल हादसे में 60 लोगों की मौत के बाद रेलवे ने इस घटना से अपना पल्ला झाड़ लिया है. उत्तरी रेलवे के प्रवक्ता दीपक कुमार ने कहा कि यह कार्यक्रम उस क्षेत्र में आता है जो रेलवे के अधिकार क्षेत्र से बाहर आता है.रेलवे के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने स्वीकार किया कि डीजल मल्टीपल यूनिट (डीएमयू) जालंधर-अमृतसर पैसेंजर ट्रेन के लोको पायलट ने आपातकालीन ब्रेक का उपयोग नहीं किया.
