A state-run South Korean think tank says the local economy is showing good export growth led by semiconductors,… but the domestic situation remains grim because of a fall in investment.
According to a report released Wednesday by the Korea Development Institute, average daily exports were up 8-point-5 percent in September compared to the same month last year.
But in August, investment in facilities was down 11-point-2 percent on year.
The report also pointed to a struggling job market in South Korea.
In August the number of newly employed people rose by 3-thousand on-year... lower than last month's 5-thousand.
In August, KDI's report said the economy was "improving," but it has not used that language in the two months since.
