00:00Let's play! Let's play! Let's have an adventure! Hooray! Let's play!
00:11Who could we be today? What could we do? I'd like to drive our racing car or fly to the
00:19moon.
00:20I could be a firefighter, a farmer or a vet, a knight in shining armour.
00:27Or I could be a chef. Let's play! Let's play! Let's play! Let's have an adventure today! Let's play!
00:45Yeah! Come on, you blues! Come on, you blues!
00:51How's my team doing, Rebecca? Which ones are they? The Reds. Oh, I'm supporting the blues.
00:56Ooh!
00:58That's it! Yes! Yes! Yes!
01:01Oh! Goal!
01:04You know why my team are winning, don't you, Syd?
01:07Because they scored a goal? No, because I'm wearing the team colours.
01:12What? Yes! I've got a blue and white scarf and a blue flag.
01:17Everyone knows if you don't have your team colours, your team won't win.
01:23They're on the telly. They can't actually see or hear you.
01:25Yeah, but they can feel your vibe, Syd. The blue vibe.
01:28Oh! Hold on, Rebecca! It's time!
01:33Great!
01:37It's time to play!
01:39Whose turn is it today?
01:41Let it be me! Let it be me!
01:44Could it be me?
01:44Me! Me! Me! Me!
01:46Let it be me!
01:52Could it be me?
01:53Let it be me! Let it be me!
01:57I really, really, really, really, hope that it's me.
02:01Let, let, let, let, let let it be me!
02:04Let it be me. Let it be me. I really, really, really, really hope that it's me.
02:12Could it be me? Could it be me?
02:16It's me! Yes, it's me. Yes, it's me. I'm really, really, really, really happy.
02:24It's me!
02:27Look, there's the dressing up room.
02:31Let's play.
02:32This is really exciting.
02:35Let's find out what we're playing today.
02:41So, I've got a diver's snorkel and mask, a racing driver's suit, and a knight's shoes.
02:47I can't imagine a knight driving a racing car under the sea, can you?
02:56Okay, so we have on blue overalls, a peaked cap, red scarf, and boots.
03:02What are we playing today?
03:05I know. We're playing steam train drivers. And what do we need to know?
03:12Steam trains were the first kind of train. They were built a long time ago and were used
03:17to carry people and things around. A steam train needs fire and water to work. The fire
03:23starts in the fire box by burning coal. This heats up water in the boiler, making steam. It
03:29powers the train's wheels to move it along. A steam train always had a guard, who used flags
03:37to signal the train driver, because steam trains were very loud. A green flag was used to say
03:45stop. And steam trains were designed to run on two different types of fuel, coal and wood.
03:55So, that's what we need to remember. And do we need anything else?
04:02Oh. A skipping rope. I wonder what this is for? I guess we'll find out. So, we've got
04:09everything we need. Let's go.
04:12Let's play.
04:13Come on, you blues.
04:15Hey, Rebecca. Guess what we're playing today?
04:18Erm, I don't know. Erm, a coal miner?
04:21No, we're playing steam train drivers.
04:23Oh, now that is a cool job.
04:25Yeah.
04:26Oh, come on, you blues.
04:27Right, well, I'll be off on my adventure then.
04:29All righty. Oh, but you'll miss the end of the match.
04:31Oh, that's okay. The Reds are going to win anyway.
04:35Goal!
04:36Oh, maybe not. See you later.
04:39See you, Z.
04:40Let's play!
04:42Come on, let's play steam train drivers.
04:52Whee!
04:53Ho-ho!
04:59Right, where are we?
05:00Well, I guess if we're going to be steam train drivers, we need to find a railway station.
05:05Oh, this looks like it might be one. Let's go and find a steam train.
05:09Oh, there you are.
05:10Oh, hello. Erm, who are you?
05:11I am the guard. My name is Winkle Pop.
05:16Now, there's a name you don't hear every day.
05:17Oh, hello. My name is steam train driver, Sid.
05:21Good. But you're late, which means we're late.
05:25Late for what?
05:25Late for taking the ever so important Lord Mayor to open the brand new station at Upper Lower Uppington.
05:32Right. Sounds very important.
05:34It is the most important day since I became train guard.
05:39Right. Come on.
05:40Let's find a steam train.
05:48Wow, this place is enormous.
05:52And noisy.
05:54Look at that.
05:55The flying squirrel.
05:57Is that our train?
05:59It is indeed.
06:01Oh, a handsome metal beast.
06:03That is the fastest train in the station I'll have you know.
06:06It's amazing and I'm going to drive it.
06:09You certainly are.
06:11And it's my job to make sure the journey goes smoothly and we get the Lord Mayor there safely on
06:16time.
06:17So, who's the man in the jewellery?
06:20That is the Lord Mayor.
06:22Our ever so special passenger.
06:26Oh, your Lord Mayor.
06:30Lovely to see you.
06:32May I take this opportunity to welcome you to our humble station?
06:37Oh, thank you.
06:39Yeah.
06:44Are you okay?
06:45Oh, yes.
06:46Oh, right.
06:47That Lord Mayor is going to get to that brand new station opening on time.
06:51If it's the last thing we do.
06:53All aboard.
06:55I've always wanted to say that.
06:59Right.
07:00So, here we are in the flying squirrel's cap.
07:02Doesn't look much like a car.
07:04Where would you put the key?
07:06Okay.
07:07What do I press?
07:08I've never seen so many pipes and dials and wheels.
07:11Oh, this might help.
07:14How to drive a steam train by Horace Shunt.
07:17Fantastic.
07:19Right.
07:19The Lord Mayor is in his seat.
07:21So, let's get that steam up and roll out of here.
07:24Oh, hold on.
07:25What's this?
07:26This pressure gauge is all the way at the bottom.
07:30What is going on?
07:32Why aren't we moving?
07:34Um, it's the pressure gauge.
07:36The needle's pointing all the way to the bottom.
07:38Well, that means we need more steam.
07:42More steam.
07:44More steam.
07:45More steam.
07:46Of course I knew that.
07:48More steam.
07:49We need to get more steam.
07:51Otherwise, we're not going anywhere.
07:53Oh, hold on.
07:55I remember.
07:56Do you?
07:56A steam train needs fire and water to get moving.
08:01And the fire is created by burning coal.
08:03So, we need to put more coal in that coal box.
08:06Don't worry, Mr. Winklepop.
08:07We'll have the flying squirrel moving in no time.
08:10Okay, right.
08:15Let's fill her up.
08:24That should do the trick.
08:27Aha!
08:28Full steam.
08:29We are ready to roll.
08:32The train now standing on platform one is the flying squirrel to Upper Lower Uppington.
08:39Release the brake and push the throttle.
08:43We're moving.
08:46Oh, I love a good toot.
08:49We're driving a steam train.
08:50The steam train drivers.
08:57Let's see how fast this flying squirrel really can go.
09:00Full steam ahead.
09:02I've always wanted to say that.
09:12This is more like it.
09:14Bang on time.
09:16Boom.
09:17The Lord Mayor is on course to make his engagement.
09:21Oh, thank goodness.
09:23It's all going well.
09:24We're making good speed.
09:28Oh.
09:29We're slowing.
09:31Why are we going slower?
09:34We're going up a hill.
09:35Because the train is so heavy, it has to work much harder to get up the hill.
09:40We need to make this train go faster.
09:43Oh.
09:44Wait a minute.
09:44We seem to be running out of coal.
09:46I don't know if we've got enough to get us all the way to the station.
09:49Are we nearly there yet?
09:51No.
09:51Keep going.
09:52We need to keep going really fast.
09:54We can't be late.
09:56Oh.
09:57Okay.
09:58Well, we're running out of coal.
09:59Oh, well don't you so much then.
10:01We really, really, really, really, really, really can't be late.
10:05Great.
10:06So he wants us to go faster and use less coal.
10:08Is he having a laugh?
10:09And we're getting much higher now.
10:12We're nearly at the mountains.
10:13How are we going to get around the mountains?
10:15We don't go round.
10:17We go through.
10:18Through the mountains?
10:20Through a tunnel.
10:22A what?
10:23A tunnel.
10:24Oh.
10:26Oh, right.
10:27A tunnel.
10:29Wow.
10:30It's really dark.
10:32I wonder where the...
10:33Ow.
10:33Who put that brake lever there?
10:36Are we going to be much longer in this dark?
10:40Oh.
10:41Oh.
10:41We're out.
10:42Yes.
10:42We made it to the other side of the mountain.
10:45And the truck is levelling off.
10:48I'm going to check on the passengers.
10:50Get on with it.
10:51We need to keep going.
10:52Go on.
10:53Let's get this flying squirrel flying.
10:56Full steam ahead, everyone.
10:57Get on!
11:00Let's play.
11:06Sir!
11:07Oh.
11:08Wiggle Pop.
11:09Hello, Wiggle Pop.
11:11Why is he waving at me?
11:13He's still waving.
11:15Sir!
11:16Sir!
11:17Sir!
11:17Sir!
11:18What's it mean when he's waving a red flag? Oh
11:22Hold on. I remember you guards use flags to signal to the train driver
11:26Yes, a green flag means it's safe to go and a red flag means stop stop stop
11:33Right stop
11:48Phew, so why do we need to stop?
11:54Is it safe, you know on the track? Oh, yes, I've closed the line. No trains coming through here
11:58Okay, so this broad must have blown onto the track. Yes, I saw it up ahead. That's why we had
12:03to stop the train
12:04Right, so what are we gonna do? Well, I'm obviously down there
12:11We're gonna get the Lord Mayor to the grand opening. Oh, um, maybe we give the Lord Mayor a piggyback
12:18Oh, great. I piggyback. Oh, oh, we can't do that to the Lord Mayor
12:22We have to move this branch then right. Yes, leave it to me
12:32It won't budge right stand back. This is a job for a steam train driver
12:42You're right it won't budge
12:44No, this is a disaster
12:46Oh, what are we gonna do?
12:48Hold on
12:50I've got an idea
12:51We can use this
12:53You want to start skipping?
12:55Oh, oh, he wants to start skipping
12:58Oh, oh, oh
12:59I don't believe it
13:01No, no, no, no, we could tie this around the branch and pull it off the track
13:04Oh, that'll never work
13:06Well, have you got any ideas?
13:08Yes
13:08Skipping rabbit is in
13:14Okay, ready?
13:16Winkle pop is ever so ready
13:20Goal!
13:21Heave!
13:22Yes, it's coming up the track
13:23It's coming up the track
13:25It's coming up the track
13:36It's coming up the track
13:41Right
13:42Right
13:42Not long now, Your Mership
13:47Right, we can be on our way again
13:51Next stop, Upper Lower Uppington Station
13:54Full steam ahead
14:00What's wrong now?
14:01Why aren't we going?
14:02Oh, what now?
14:05Oh, no
14:06The pressure's really low
14:08We're out of steam
14:10What's going on?
14:11We're out of coal
14:13Leave it to me
14:14I'll shovel that coal
14:15No, can do
14:16We've run out
14:17Run out?
14:18Oh, what have you done with it?
14:19Well, I've used it all up
14:20What?
14:21Used up all the coal?
14:22Well, it's a very hungry steam train
14:24Oh, no
14:25Oh, no
14:26What are we going to do?
14:27We're going to be late
14:28Oh, the mayor will miss the opening to the station
14:30Oh
14:34Well, we've run out of coal
14:35So the train won't go
14:36What are we going to do?
14:39Oh
14:40Hold on
14:41I remember
14:42Do you?
14:43Steam trains use two types of fuel
14:45Coal
14:46And
14:47Wood
14:47That's it
14:48We can use
14:49Wood
