According to a report by Business Insider, just days after multiple US bomber flights over the contested waters of the South China Sea, Chinese fighters and bombers took part in live-fire exercises over the same area, as tension continues to rise between the two super-powers. The Japan Times originally reported that dozens of fighter jets and bombers performed the drills in order to test pilots' ability to assault, penetrate, and deliver precision-strikes during sea operations.
