The DIG has said that police officials with soft skills will be employed during the Kumbh Mela celebrations. "The Kumbh Mela is a part of tradition. Sadhus come and there is provision of non-vegetarian food. We have requested the state government to ensure that the police deployed is sensitive to the tradition of the fest and they don’t do anything that goes against it. We have asked for them to be physically fit. The constables will be 40 years and head constable upto 55 years. Have requested for those who can withstand the cold, and tough circumstances. We have asked for people who have soft skills, as they will work as guides and facilitators. We have requested for Young people, interested in service who can further our tradition."
