Sadly, bandleader Dave Bernie was largely eclipsed by his more famous brother Ben, who led a much more prestigious orchestra. Hence, biographical data are almost unavailable. He starred as himself in two short movies in 1929, 'Dave Bernie's Orchestra in Here Comes the Showboat' and 'Dave Bernie's Orchestra'. Besides, as far as I know, he recorded only one single disc, equally in 1929. He is best remembered as a sheet music editor. Although lesser known today, this recording proves that Dave Bernie definitely had a remarkably skilled band. The vocalists singing the chorus remained uncredited.
