S. Korean shipbuilders won highest amount of orders worldwide in August

For four months straight, Korean shipbuilders have maintained the number one spot... in terms of global shipbuilding orders volume.
According to a report by Clarkson Research,... in August, Seoul secured orders equal to 540-thousand compensated gross tons to build 10 ships.
That accounted for over 40 percent of orders worldwide.
China was runner-up with 320-thousand CGTs, or 14 vessels,... and Taiwan third with 280-thousand, or 10 ships.
South Korea also ranked first in cumulative orders between January and August,... totaling over 7-point-5 million CGTs, or 172 vessels.
