The Blue House has asked parliament's most senior lawmakers to join him for the inter-Korean summit in Pyeongyang next week.
The invitation, announced today by President Moon's chief of staff, Im Jong-seok, who heads the summit preparation committee, was extended to the parliamentary speaker and the heads of all five parties.
Those parties, just hours earlier, failed to agree on having the legislature ratify the agreement reached by President Moon and Kim Jong-un in their first summit in April -- the Panmunjom Declaration.
They chose instead to review it after this third summit.
The head of the preparatory committee added that the government will soon finalize its list of delegates to the Pyeongyang summit -- saying that the two sides have agreed to cap the South Korean delegation at about 200 people.
