Swapna Barman becomes first Indian Athlete to win Gold Medal in Heptthalan at 18th Asian Games jakarta

स्वप्ना बर्मन ने दांत में दर्द के बावजूद एशियाई खेलों की हेप्टाथलन स्पर्धा में स्वर्ण पदक जीतकर नया इतिहास रचा। वह इन खेलों में सोने का तमगा जीतने वाली पहली भारतीय हैं। इक्कीस वर्षीय बर्मन ने दो दिन तक चली सात स्पर्धाओं में 6026 अंकों के साथ सोना जीता। इस दौरान उन्होंने ऊंची कूद (1003 अंक) और भाला फेंक (872 अंक) में पहला तथा गोला फेंक (707 अंक) और लंबी कूद (865 अंक) में दूसरा स्थान हासिल किया था।
