Life is crawling back to normal in Kerala as water recedes. ATM services have resume in Idukki, among the worst hit districts in Kerala. Receding floodwater is leaving a trail of debris behind and rescue operations are underway. According to the Indian meteorological department, “heavy rainfall” is expected only in Kozhikode, Kannur and Idduki districts over the next four days. Authorities are preparing to deal with a possible outbreak of water-borne and air-borne diseases.
