San Fran forming Poop Patrol to keep sidewalks deuce-free

SAN FRANCISCO — San Fran may be one of the richest cities in the U.S., but it's also one of the filthiest, which is why the city is launching a new clean up crew to rid the sidewalks of human waste.

According to the SF Chronicle, the city has formed a new task force called the "Poop Patrol."
In around a month, a team of five Public Works staffers will get the honor of roaming the lovely sidewalks of the Tenderloin and Civic Center or other areas known to be littered with deuces in a steam cleaner on wheels.
The team will start scrubbing away in the afternoons, typically when human logs start getting dropped off.
According to Public Works director Mohammed Nuru, "we're trying to be proactive. We're actually out there looking for it."
Between Jan. 1 and August 13 of this year, the city already received 14,597 calls about human mud pies on sidewalks.
